An elegant neck is within your grasp

The neck is one of the first areas of the body to show the signs of aging. The skin on the neck is delicate and vulnerable to environmental damage and loss of elasticity. Even younger individuals who still have adequate elasticity may develop fat deposits under the chin that resist all efforts of diet and exercise. As the aging process continues, loose skin, vertical muscle cords, and deep horizontal creases can develop in the neck, detracting even further from a youthful appearance.

Dr. Alexander Sinclair of Sinclair Plastic Surgery can perform neck lift surgery to help correct these problems and restore the neck to a smoother, more youthful appearance. Dr. Sinclair has more than 30 years of experience serving patients in the greater Los Angeles area. Browse his before and after photos and read the many reviews from his happy patients. With Dr. Sinclair as your surgeon, you can expect to achieve the agreed-upon results with your cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.

Benefits of a neck lift

Dr. Sinclair can dramatically rejuvenate a patient’s appearance by tightening the skin of the neck and creating a contoured, more youthful neckline. This is accomplished by removing excess fat and skin and tightening the muscles. Although the neck is still subject to the effects of aging, the results of this procedure are typically long-lasting, generally up to 10 years or more.

Benefits of a neck lift may include:

Neck lift procedure

Neck lift surgery generally takes approximately 1 to 3 hours. This outpatient procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia along with intravenous sedation, although general anesthesia is also available for those who prefer it. A neck lift can be performed in conjunction with other facial surgeries, such as a face lift or brow lift.

In the neck lift procedure, very small incisions are made behind the ears and under the chin. Through these incisions, excess fat is removed and slack muscles are tightened. When work on underlying tissues is complete, the skin is replaced and pulled taut, excess skin is removed, and the incision is closed with sutures.

What to expect after

You will wear a neck sling or other protective wrapping for the first day after the surgery. Your sutures may be absorbable, or they may need to be removed within one or two weeks after surgery. You may experience bruising and swelling, which could last approximately two weeks, and moderate discomfort, which can be controlled with oral pain medication. The final results of your neck lift procedure can be seen approximately 1 to 3 months after surgery is complete.

PRACTICE POLICY UPDATE REGARDING COVID-19

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated - June 26th 2020

The COVID-19 epidemic has created unprecedented circumstances for our community. Our practice has been paying close attention to the guidelines put in place by the government and

With this in mind, we are offering virtual consultations to patients via face time, however, face-to-face in-office consultation are still available. We are still seeing post-operative patients and patients requiring ongoing treatments. To schedule, a virtual consultation or in-office consultation call our office.

Please know that we are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and doing our part to make sure that you are protected

  • We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. Our preventative measures include:
  • Fully training all staff members to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • Appointments will be staggered to avoid congestion in the waiting room.
  • Checking temperatures of every patient that comes into the office.
  • Asking all staff, vendors and ancillary personnel to refrain from coming to the office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Asking every patient to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms and inquiring about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing, as this continues to be the most important mode of prevention.
  • Although it is something that we have always constantly done, we are now doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • Constantly sanitizing all surfaces (which we have always done as an accredited facility).

However, we have now increased this routine and are wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities multiple times each day.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this country even better than it currently is. We are closely monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will update our practice’s guidelines as needed to protect our patients.
